Parachuting gives you the opportunity to experience flying without aids.
In freefall, you move three-dimensionally by changing your own body position. There is no feeling of falling, because the distance to the ground is so great. The parachutist feels that he is flying in relation to the other jumpers involved in the jump.
The charm of the sport lies in free fall. For many jumpers, a parachute is just a device that enables the next jump.
Skydiving, like many other sports, has its own risks. However, serious accidents rarely happen in the sport. Most of the accidents in the sport are quite minor, such as sprained ankles. Jumping, like other aviation, is a carefully monitored and regulated activity. The aim is to increase the safety of skydiving, e.g. by reporting all incidents to the Finnish Aviation Federation. Each event is carefully analyzed and the results are immediately transferred to the training of new jumpers. The parachute equipment used by jumpers is designed to reduce the risks of the sport. In the event of a problem situation, the jumper has e.g. a backup umbrella with an automatic trigger. Parachute assemblies are used for regular inspection and maintenance by persons who have the necessary training and permits for inspection and maintenance.
